I am back at work and it has me all sorts of inspired these days. My major post-baby chunkster days are behind me and I am loving getting dressed in real clothes again. Of course, what I am pulling out of my closet has changed a little. If I think I will cry when drool lands on it, it’s staying in the closet for now. Here’s my favorite looks for hot mommas:
Also it seems while I am chunking down, someone else is chunking up!

Spring Inspiration

Yesterday it was sunny and 45 degrees here in Boston! Practically springtime. I am feeling inspired by what I hope is the soon to arrive warm weather. Here are a few of my favorite springy things these days.
1. This dress from Calypso styled up with fresh green and gold accessories.
2. New Leigh & Luca scarves available at dress. A splash of great spring color, but they’ll still keep you warm in the last of the winter chill. (I bought one last week and have been wearing it non-stop!).

3. An inventive way to use all those mismatched winter mittens you’ll soon be sorting through. Loved this in a New York Times feature on a home in Brooklyn.
4. Weddings. I really, really love them. Romance, cake and dancing. What’s not to love?
It seems a long way off, especially with yet another winter storm forecast for tomorrow (yuck!). While I am holed up in my apartment tomorrow, I’ll be dreaming of busting out some of these new spring looks, from a preview of some of the new pieces coming into my favorite store, dress, already.
I’ve got redecorating on the brain. Again. Right now I am obsessed with blues and rich deep color combinations of all sorts.
Hot Pink + Navy

Black + White
Orange + Navy
Green + Blue
I found this recap of Carey’s best red carpet looks on Frugal Fashionista. Nothing frugal about these looks, but oh how I love them.

Right about now I am feeling pretty darn happy that I don’t celebrate winter holidays in any traditional sense. A couple years ago I talked my family out of exchanging any sort of holiday presents and we’re all the happier for it (before you judge me a horrid person, they all agreed pretty freakin’ readily). We still all get together, have a nice time and eat a lot, which as far as I am concerned are the important parts of the holidays anyway. Still, I love this “Dream Wish List” floating around on the internet. I especially love that it includes notes, typo corrections, and all from this woman’s boyfriend. I can almost feel his incredulity as he assigns prices to the many items on her list. For full snarky run down see HuffPo article.

Loeffler Randall, I love you still

Please! Do not wear those Uggs in public. They’re fine for house-slippers but leave them at home. Look at what Loeffler Randall just introduced – a shearling version of the Matilde boot. I would love to have these for the winter. Santa?
