What the Buck?

So if you’re like me and you love food and love TV (I hate to admit it, but it’s true), you possibly watched the Food Network’s “Next Food Network Star.” And if you have a soul you’ve probably fallen in love with Aarti. But! What you probably didn’t know is that she has had a You Tube cooking show for three “seasons” that is awesome. What the buck? Who knew? I am sure the Food Network will produce some cookie cutter crap, so watch her on You Tube, because she is freaking adorable.
PS – Wait for it. The best part is after the cooking demo.
A friend from college has a blog, the concept of which I absolutely love. Called Scout, it features local businesses in her home town of Charlottesville. I adore the notion of promoting all the lovely *local* places to eat, shop, and play. It makes me want to visit! Check it out.
Happy melodies for a spring day. Thanks to Jessie and Sam for taking me to see this band last night!
This is about the cutest blog around. ”Mrs. Lilien” waxes on a different theme every day with the most adorable pieces to illustrate her point.
And apparently so does everyone else. Christian Louboutin loves Barbie. Jonathan Adler loves Barbie. Both have designed special edition Barbies complete with accessories (shoes and couches repsectively, natch).
Here’s the CL Barbie. And check out the hokey pics of him posing with Barbie as she goes through her fabulous pretend life. Available at net-a-porter.com.
And the JA Barbie. Don’t these things conjure up the dressing room I was just wishing for?? Available at jonathanadler.com. It’s tough to see in the pic, but this Barbie comes with a tiny book entitled “My Prescription for Antidepressive Living,” penned by Jonathan Adler and Barbie Books.
I still love these Barbie classics. I was so obsessed with this stuff when I was little. Apparently, not much has changed.
Barbie Townhouse – that elevator alone was to die for.
Barbie Corvette. Hot Stuff.
Okay I gotta go. I am going into a Barbie frenzy. Enough.
Barbie update: Also jumping onto Barbie bandwagon, Commes des Garcons. This Barbie is $368. No, that’s not a typo.
My heart swells whenever I see one of these dresses. Really. I want one so badly. Alas not in the cards for me. Good news. Rodarte comes to Target Dec 22. Joy. No pics of the line yet, but my hopes are high.
In terribly exciting news, two of my favorite shows are converging. The “Chairman” of Iron Chef America is joining the cast of my favorite show, Dancing with the Stars. (Yes, I am an enormous geek, you gotta problem with that?) The stars are aligned. I bet he’ll do well too, with an acting and marshall arts background. And he does those crazy flips on the Iron Chef. Plus come on, look at him. I think he can dance. Will the secret ingredient be charm?
Apparently, I am not the only one who loves Kelly Ripa. She was included in Vanity Fair’s 2009 International Best Dressed List along side good company: a couple of first ladies (I am sure you can guess who), a little royalty, fashion industry heavy hitters, and well dressed Hollywood types. And look what she is wearing in the pic they included in the piece! We could be twins. Just kidding, I am not *that* delusional.
