Love these gorgeous cupcakes from the blog mingmakescupcakes. Just looking at them almost (almost!) satisfies my sugar craving.

Smitten

I love me some Smitten Kitchen.  Without a doubt my favorite food blog.   Cleverly written, gorgeous photography, and with the most delectable recipes.   I can’t wait to head to the farmers market and make this tomorrow.

Buy Taza Chocolate!

I’ve posted about this local and muy muy delicioso chocolate before.  It seems that in the flash flood a couple weeks ago, their brand new production facility found itself under water.  Please support this local company.  Log onto their website to buy some chocolate and keep them afloat (pun intended).  You won’t regret it! Not into chocolate?  No worries you can still support this local business by buying Taza Dollars, gift certificates for their soon to be opened factory shop.  You can pass them on to your loved ones.  Or feel free to send them to me.

Ahh, Summertime

Nice to see you and glad you’ve been sticking around.  Seems like a good day for a picnic.

I’m wearing:

I’m eating:

Oh, Oreo Thin Crisps.  You are just the kind of food I like to get all judge-y about.  Processed, heavy on the packaging, low on the real food content you’re no friend of the environment inside or outside of my body.  But you are so tasty.  And satisfying.  And there are about 50 of you in a single 100 calorie pack.  Apparently woman cannot exist on organic fancy chocolate alone.  The shame.

Swoon

I have a new love – Taza Chocolate.  I am ashamed to say that despite the fact the factory is right here in Somerville, I’d never tried it until yesterday.  It’s crazy because this small batch organic chocolate maker has even offered tours of their factory a la Charlie and the Chocolate factory and still I never got around to eating it.  Well no longer is that the case. One tiny bite and I went out and bought about 5 pounds so I would have some on hand at all times.   What’s so special?  It’s stone ground, organic, and minimally processed.  As a result the chocolate retains pure flavor and tiny granules of sugar so it pops in your mouth.  But really, there is no describing it.  It’s pure tasty treat heaven.  Just go get some as quickly as you can.

Bittman manages to be amusing and make it all look very easy.   I am going to make this matzo, for sure.
